Agribusiness the Canadian
way (June 2004 - source: Serbia)
Privatization
of the company PIK-Becej is coming to its last phase. A memorandum
of understanding (MOU) with CASP has been signed at the Canadian
Embassy by the President of CASP, Mr. Douglas MacArthur, and General
Manager of PIK-Becej, Mr. Dragan Sataric, in the presence of the
Canadian Ambassador, Mr. Donald Mac Lennon, and the Minister of
Agriculture, Mrs. Ivana Dulic-Markovic. With our Canadian partners
the goal would be to achieve greater production in the existing
Working Units (Divisions) and open new production activities. With
help from the members of CASP, our company has the privilege to
be a promoter for new technologies and knowledge in the field of
agribusiness. PIK-Becej will be a model, not only in our country,
but for this part of Europe, and will be a shining example of a
successful agro-industry pilot project model.
